Uganda’s year round conducive climate, abundant water sources and diverse vegetation cover make it one of the best birding destinations in Africa. Vast species of birds fly in from around the world throughout the year and about 1,080 bird species have been recorded.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is one Uganda’s most visited National Parks and is home vast animal and bird species. With over 600 bird species, Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the best spots where birding enthusiasts can encounter even the most rare bird species. Most of these bird species can be encountered while on a wildlife game drive through the park or while on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

The Kazinga channel is a 40km natural stream of water joining lakes Edward and George situated within the spectacular Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is relatively shallow with a depth of 3 to 4meters, the channel is the dominant attraction of Queen Elizabeth National Park with two parts north Kazinga and the Kasenyi plains.
Both the parts of the Kazinga Channel are very good points of viewing game. The Kazinga plains are ideal for lion tracking. It is lined with a swamp on its northern shores beneath the Mweya peninsula, it’s a wet land registered and protected by the ramsar sites rights conservation of wetlands in Africa.
Rwenzori Mountain Trekking
Rwenzori Mountains National Park lies in the South-western corner of Uganda along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo next to the great Virunga National Park.
The park covers an area of 386 square miles and its boundaries pass through the districts of Kabarole, Bundibugyo and Kasese. Because of its natural beauty, rare plants, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, hot springs, glaciers and the mountains, the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1994.
You can enjoy scaling the mountain ranges in most parts of the part with a guide
